Reinterpretation of Tradition
Inspired by the traditional Korean brazier, which was used to heat and regulate the surrounding air to create a comfortable living environment, VLND reimagined this cultural element in a modern context.

Universal Design for Daily Use
ROOT functions as both a humidifier and a dehumidifier, automatically detecting humidity levels and adjusting accordingly—humidifying when the air is dry and dehumidifying when it’s too moist. Since maintaining ideal humidity often requires refilling or emptying the water tank multiple times a day, ease of use was a key design priority. Unlike most conventional products, ROOT’s water tank can be removed from the top, and its wide opening makes refilling or emptying water quick and hassle-free.

Visualization of Information
The status is intuitively communicated through light patterns. Subtle lighting glows through the fine top perforations, echoing the warm ambiance of a traditional brazier. ROOT automatically adjusts brightness based on air quality and blinks to signal when the water tank needs attention.

Design for Better Performance
Unlike most similar products that are typically placed near a wall, ROOT is designed to be positioned in the center of a room to enhance performance. It draws in air from the bottom and releases purified air from the top, improving overall circulation.

Unique Aesthetic Infusing a New Sensibility
Used throughout the year in both humid summers and dry winters, the product was designed to feel more like furniture than a typical appliance. Curlfit technology was applied to create a natural wood texture, adding warmth and a sense of harmony to everyday spaces.

The Legs with Unique Impression
Three legs support the main body, converging in smooth, flowing curves. A closer look reveals a resemblance to a living creature, adding a distinct and intriguing character to the design.
